Overview of the Transportation Revolution
In the early 19th century the new technologies created a transition in American industry called the Industrial Revolution. The only way this Revolution would be able to grow and be successful was if America was able to transport all materials and goods over vast distances.
This and the migration westward evoked new ways of transportation such as, railroads, steamboats, turnpikes, and waterways. People were willing to pay for all of these advances and soon enough all of these new means of travel constituted the Transportation Revolution.
